Japan has seen some adventurous flavor offerings from Pepsi, including salty watermelon, Christmas cake, and sakura-flavored cola. Last year, the soft drink giant released a special Pepsi J-Cola using specific ingredients to target the Japanese market exclusively. Now Pepsi has touched up their J-Cola formula, claiming inspiration from a campaign to celebrate Japanese food culture.
The new formula Pepsi Japan Cola adds salt to help bring out the sweet cola flavor, but is also infused with yuzu, a popular Japanese citrus fruit known for its tart but refreshing flavor and fragrance.
The new yuzu and salt flavored Pepsi Japan will go on sale in Japan starting April 9th, in both regular and zero calorie varieties.
