Haagen-Dazs ice cream is a household name in Japan, offering a host of seasonal and limited time only flavours, all in convenient one person cups that can be picked up at any supermarket or convenience store. Although it's a non-Japanese company, they have plenty of special Japan only variations, many of which are inspired by traditional Japanese sweets and flavours.
In celebration of 35 years in Japan, Haagen-Dazs have announced a pop-up cafe called Haagen-Dazs Matcha Salon, in the upmarket Roppongi Hills shopping complex of Tokyo.
The very first product that Haagen Dazs produced just for the Japanese market, was the green tea ice cream in 1996. This flavour is still available today, and is so loved that it even ranks in the top three popular flavours on a regular basis.
The Haagen-Dazs Matcha Salon will be a testament to this rich, distinctly Japanese flavour. The special menu of six courses will offer the chance to enjoy not just the taste of green tea, but proports to satisfy all five senses with matcha goodness.
Exactly what those courses will entail is yet to be revealed, but it has been announced that the cafe will only be around from 24th April to 5th May 2019.
