While cherry blossom season in Japan brings with it a number of sakura-themed beverages and treats, for photographer and mother Chikushi (@chikushi_22, it brings a beautiful backdrop for pictures of her daughter--her favorite photo subject.
A recent trip to southern Izu (known for early blooming cherry blossoms) revealed two new photogenic models in the form of two kittens playing among the sakura trees.

Chikushi clarified that the kittens are not actually strays living the cherry blossom trees, but attended to by a local man in the region.
Those in Japan can see the beautiful sea of sakura at the ongoing Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival, as well as follow Chikushi on Twitter and Instagram for more great photography.
