Breathe in the smell of spring with Japan’s sakura scented masks

Spring is unequivocally Japan’s favourite season, and what better way to celebrate than with a deluge of cherry blossom-inspired items to help quell the country’s undying love for everything sakura.
From doughnuts to shoes, it seems there’s literally no stone left unturned when it comes to sakura-ifying anything and everything.
One particularly unexpected cherry blossom item that was released this year is this startlingly pink curry, apparently modelled after the beloved floral phenomenon.
Although curry isn’t originally from Japan, they really took the dish and made it their own. Japanese curry is characterised by its mild and sweet taste, as opposed to spiciness, as well as its thick consistency. It’s known as a homely and filling comfort food with chunky vegetables and plenty of rice.
Proof that sakura appreciation overcomes all boundaries when it comes to reimagining food, it’s an item that squarely hits that sweet intersection between love of pretty pink flowers and love of a hearty and filling Japanese dish.
If you happen to be a part of this very specific target customer base, this blossom-inspired concoction can be found on Rakuten's online shop.
