Japan’s Real Life Studio Ghibli Village Offers The Most Charming Stroll–And It’s Free!
Japan’s Studio Ghibli merchandise wonderland Donguri Republic (Donguri Kyowakoku) have a massive range of goods to suit any need. Every year they recommend the perfect presents for various events and even sometimes release special items just for the occasion.
With this year’s Mother’s Day coming up fast, they’ve took the chance provide a whole host of options inspired by the legendary animation studio's characters. Any of their products would be the perfect way to show some appreciation to a Studio Ghibli-loving mum, especially one with a soft spot for My Neighbour Totoro.
For one, there’s a charming limited-edition gift set, wrapped up to look like the corn Mei gives to her mother in the memorable and heartwarming movie scene. Or super cute flower boxes featuring beloved characters, a thoughtful gift which is particularly convenient since it will be delivered directly to the recipient’s door, along with an adorable matching Mother’s Day card.
They previously announced three different designs for the flower box, including two Totoro ones and one for Kiki’s Delivery Service fans.
But if you want even more Totoro options you’re in luck, as two more designs have been added. Each order includes the Studio Ghibli themed flower box itself, as well as the flowers, a card and delivery fee.
In one flower box, big Totoro and his smaller versions are delivering the flowers on a three wheeled cart (6600 yen).
For the other option, he’s hauled some pretty carnations up on his back to dispatch them straight to the object of your gratitude (6200 yen).
The goods can be ordered on Donguri Republic's online shop and sent directly to the intended recipient some time between 6th and 10th May. But you’ll have to be quick, if you want to order one of these gift sets, or the previously announced ones, the deadline is 30th April at 10am.
