Mont Blanc is a dessert traditionally made with sweetened chestnut puree. This makes it a fall favourite in Japan, where chestnut is considered a classic autumn flavour. Fans of this dessert in Tokyo are about to be treated to Mont Blanc heaven, because the Isetan department store located in Shinjuku are holding a seven-day Mont Blanc bonanza.

With this week-long event, Isetan are showcasing the Mont Blanc creations of ten different dessert specialist stores, with some particularly unique offerings to be found. The purveyors of these sweets have been selected from all over Japan, and range from the more affordable to the luxury.

For example, the ‘Super Mont Blanc’ from Tokyo’s Hotel New Otani Patisserie Satsuki is a gorgeous sight to behold, and costs 3564 yen.

While the Instagrammable ‘Mont Blanc Scone Sandwich’ from Bakers Gonna Bake (another Tokyo bakery) is 690 yen.

Gifu prefecture’s Enakawakamiya have created these ‘Chestnut Mountains’ held in pie crusts for a sweet snack costing 651 yen.

That’s not even the only Mont Blanc pie at the event. La Casa di Marco (Marco 102) from Kanagawa will be selling the ‘Italian Chestnut Pie’ for 481 yen.

Another creative take on the Mont Blanc is from Nanarica (Tokyo) with their ‘The Mont Blanc Burger’, costing 972 yen.

The event will be held from 13th to 19th October 2021, on floor B1 of the Isetan department store in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
