Social distancing cafe opens up in Tokyo
Just earlier this year, Tokyo commuters were stunned by a giant realistic 3-D cat that took up residence on the Cross Shinjuku Building located just outside Shinjuku Station. The feline is an impressive display of the new advertising space, and now regularly speaks to and interacts with the crowd below.
Now, the building will also be home to the newly opening takeout café “ Café Little Pasteto” on the first floor of the building. Its grand-opening is on October 31st, 2021.
Although it is a takeout café, there will be a few seats available inside as well. It is also easy to spot as it’s located right at the corner of Shinjuku EastExit Hiroba-Mae. This makes it a perfect meetup or resting spot, and perhaps a feline version of Shibuya’s famous Hachiko statue, which is known to be one of Tokyo's most popular rendezvous points.
The sweets and coffee at Café Little Pasteto will include Frapeto, fruity and icy yogurt based drinks with volume, available in Berry, Mango, Malone & Orange flavors. The cafe also sells iced and hot Sarutahiko coffee, known to use beans that provide an easy to drink flavor.
