With the abundance of awesome sightseeing spots and natural splendor in Japan, it can sometimes be difficult to narrow down a list of "must-go-to" areas on your travel itinerary, especially if you're not quite sure when you'll be coming back. And for those who have been to Japan and are feeling a pang of nostalgia for their journeys, a plane ticket isn't always feasibly within reach. Fortunately, Japanese company Creative Office Haruka has launched a 360° Panorama project that lets you explore some of Japan's most scenic regions while soaking in gorgeous detail and atmosphere.
The project allows for visitors to explore some of the most famous, as well as lesser-known, sightseeing spots in three popular regions of Japan--Kyoto, Okinawa, and Hokkaido. The site has a very easy to work interface, first presenting you with a map and labeled temples, shrines, and forests in the case of Kyoto (for larger areas like Okinawa and Hokkaido, you can select different regions to explore), which you can click on to travel to the respective site. Once there, you can explore with all the features of a 360° panorama, but can also click on waypoints to progress deeper into the area you wish to explore.
The above video gives a good indication of the site's quality, but we recommend trying out each individual home page for a more in-depth experience in exploring some of Japan's most beautiful areas.
