Walking around in this heat catching Pokemon is really taking it out of us Pokemon trainers. This is why it’s important to take a break every once in a while and indulge in some icy treats to help cool down.
Baskin Robbins, known simply as ‘Thirty-one’ in Japan, is running a collaboration with Pokemon this summer, making it the perfect spot for fans of the super popular series to grab some ice cream.
A brand new flavour will be available, inspired by the most well-known Pocket Monster, called 'Pikachu’s Thunderbolt Fruit Mix'. The sorbet is pineapple, yellow peach, banana, apple and orange flavour and red popping candy is mixed in to replicate Pikachu’s crackling electric moves. The yellow and red colour scheme is obviously a reference to Pikachu’s colouring, but a more obvious motif comes in the form of the adorable little edible Pikachu faces.
Also, if you order a regular size double cup, you can get one of these awesome Pokemon designs. The collaboration is in honour of the Mewtwo Strikes Back reboot, so you can choose from Pikachu, Mewtwo or Mew themed cups. Each cup comes with a Pikachu spoon and these will be given out randomly, so you can look forward to seeing which cute Pikachu pose you get!
If you have a birthday coming up (or just really, really like Pokemon and ice cream), there’s also two special Pokemon themed ice cream cakes going on sale. A big Pikachu face and a big Eevee face. Although the campaign is temporary, the ice cream cakes will become a permanent item.
But, in the case of the other items, they will only be available from 1st August to 31st, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to catch ‘em all!
