Located on Awaji Island in Hyogo prefectures, amusement park Nijigen no Mori ("Two Dimensional Forest") offers an opportunity for anime fans to explore outdoor attractions that makes them feel as if they've jumped into the worlds of their favorite series. A recently opened Naruto and Boruto Ninja Village recreated the world of Naruto with a lifelike Hokage Rock structure and even ninja training.

The park's latest endeavor looks to be its biggest yet, and it should be as its a recreation of the King of the Monsters himself: a gigantic statue of Godzilla that clocks in at 120 meters in length!

Kaiju fans will recognize the aesthetic for this massive structure as Godzilla's appearance in Godzilla: Resurgence (Shin-Gojira), directed by Hideaki Anno of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame. The attraction is titled the "Godzilla Interception Operation", and it will have visitors assume the roles of island researchers who are tasked with the dangerous mission of zip-lining into Godzilla's mouth to conduct research (as well as fire a missile while in there) after the legendary beast has been trapped in the island's earth with the help of explosives and a freezing spray.

It's probably safe to assume that your research efforts don't go exactly as planned.

As you would expect of a 5,000-square meter zone dedicated to the King of the Monsters, the giant structure is only one attraction. Fans will also be able to track down an array of Godzilla-themed food and goods to help fuel their dangerous research.

An official opening date of the zone hasn't been announced, but it is tentatively scheduled to welcome visitors in the summer of 2020. You can keep a tab on the rising Godzilla threat at the park's official website.
