Only ten days away from its release in Japan, Shin-Gojira, or Godzilla: Resurgence, as it is titled in English, has picked up a lot of steam lately with its slew of interesting promotions, as well as its ominous trailer which revealed a more sinister looking Godzilla. Now the film's final trailer is out, and it is probably the one that is most indicative of the influence of the co-directors, Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, both of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame.

The film has promised to feature the most terrifying incarnation of Godzilla yet, and given the sense of hopelessness in the trailer, it looks like the King of the Monsters is doing his best to live up to that claim.
The gigantic cast and third consecutive dialogue-less trailer will no doubt have some concerned with other substance in the film, but at the very least it is nice to see Godzilla presented as a monstrous force that can render an entire country in panic. The haunting choir music and feeling of dread will also give Neon Genesis Evangelion fans a nostalgic apocalyptic vibe.
