Studio Ghibli fans can always count on Japanese retailer Donguri Kyowakoku for regular fashion releases inspired by the beloved animation giant, including vintage Princess Mononoke jackets and Catbus winter wear. The newest entry in their popular GBL fashion series looks to keep pleasing Ghibli fans, this time with a collaborative effort with Canadian woolen sweaters and accessories maker Granted for a beautifully designed My Neighbour Totoro-themed hand-knit sweater.
Each "My Neighbor Totoro Canadian Heritage Sweater" is a specially hand-knit by a craftsman in a process that takes 25 hours.
The extra thick woolen sweater sports charming designs of Totoro and the Catbus, as well as acorns and leaves that blend movie motifs with traditional knitting designs by Granted.
Those on a budget be warned, as the sweater is priced at 69,800 yen. Reservations for the sweater can be placed at both Donguri Kyowakoku and GBL sites starting November 13th.
