Latte lovers of Japan rejoice! Starbucks across the nation have added oat and almond milk to their menus as of March 2020. Which means, visitors and residents of Japan can now enjoy Starbuck’s delicious milk based beverages their way by spiking espresso with a triumvirate of dairy free options: almond, oat and soy milks. Why not try a new milk in Starbucks’ latest luxurious Butterscotch latte?
Strabuck’s describes oat milk as a subtly sweet and natural partner to the bitterness of espresso. Almond milk meanwhile is a rich and fragrant companion to coffee when you’re feeling in an indulgent mood.

Starbucks introduced the new plant based milk alternatives under the slogan: “Your Choice, Your Latte”. The slogan highlights that customers can customize their espresso and milk based drinks according to their mood. But especially for those with intolerances to dairy or soy, the addition of oat and almond milk open up a whole new side of Starbucks’ menu to explore and enjoy.
This will also be music to the taste buds of residents and visitors in Japan hailing from the US or Europe, where Starbucks chains have offered a similar range of dairy alternative for a number of years. Plant based milks debuted on Starbucks menus across US chains to meet rising demand from increasingly health consciousness customers shunning traditional dairy. From 2020 Starbucks is making a global push to introduce more environmentally friendly alternatives to dairy to meet the needs of customers who care not only for their own health, but that of the planet also.
