Over the years, Japan has come up with robots that serve almost any purpose you can think of, from things like delivering packages to securing train stations. However, Japan’s not against making robots that serve more of an emotional purpose rather than a practical one -- in other words, robots you might want around for just plain old companionship.
This is evidenced by inventions like this cat robot that responds to your interactions via meows and purrs, and LOVOT, a robot designed to be capable of things like recognizing human emotions and responding to positive gestures.
Now this irresistibly cute companion is getting its own permanent cafe in Kawasaki, Japan, and the menu is just as adorable as you’d expect. The cafe is serving a variety of food and drink items, some of which, like this avocado burger (2,600 yen), has the robot’s face looking right at you. That might make eating it a bit difficult -- because who wouldn’t fall in love with that face? -- but it can still be a cute experience nonetheless.

Other food items with LOVOT’s image include a vegetable curry dish (2,400 yen) and dessert items like strawberry mousse (1,800 yen) and a cake roll (1,800 yen).

These next drinks might feel a little more guilt-free when you consume them though, since LOVOT’s face is only on the glasses. The drinks come in colorful colors like a green cream soda, a red & purple lemonade, and a bright yellow lemonade.

Lastly, it wouldn’t be a cafe without coffee drinks, and the cafe’s lattes come in two simple, but cute, latte art designs.
