Japan’s love affair with the claymation characters of Aardman animations has led to several cafes around the country where you can sample Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit inspired treats.
For the autumn season, the Shaun’s Village cafe and shop located in Machida, Tokyo, has come up with some creative seasonal dishes like matcha trifle.
But to truly get into the spirt of the season, there’s two super cute Halloween dishes that can be found at Shaun the Sheep Farm Cafe. While most of the cafes and pop-up events take place in Tokyo, this one can be found in Aichi prefecture.
‘Shaun’s Happy Halloween Plate’ has a black sesame rice Shaun, fried chicken, and plenty of spooky touches like a pumpkin salad ghost (1510 yen).
The Halloween tart is extra adorable with stars and fluffy ghosts, and has a fittingly autumnal flavour of purple sweet potato (960 yen).
Apart from these seasonal additions, the usual menu is also full of adorable tributes to Shaun and his various pals, like super cute ice cream cones and drinks floats.
This permanent Shuan the Sheep cafe can be found at the Akaike Prime Tree shopping complex, located in Aichi prefecture. The Halloween menu is only available for a limited time, until 31st October 2021.
