When it comes to quirky and creative interior goods in Japan, it can be hard to top oddity and bookstore Village Vanguard, which keeps a steady flow of fascinating furniture with croissant-shaped cushion seats and miniature capsule hotels for cats.
Their latest release aims to provide a "living light" for your room, especially if you live on your own. Village Vanguard has added a new Woodman Lamp that looks like a living lamp, developed by interior design company Entrex.
Pixar fans will immediately be reminded of Luxo Jr., the anthropomorphic company mascot lamp. The Woodman Lamp isn't all that different, but with a more "nostalgic" wooden design. The lamp, which Village Vanguard suggests is a match for those who live alone, can be adjusted. The angle of the head and leg joints can be adjusted by loosening the screws, allowing you to freely change the angle according to where you place it.
If you adjust the shape of the legs, you can also use it as a lighted stand for books or tablets, as well as a bed light.
While the Woodman Lamp is available for order in Japan from Village Vanguard, it can also be ordered on Amazon.
