Certain prefectures in Japan that receive heavy snowfall are often referred to with the nickname "Snow Country", and are sometimes known for drastic changes in scenery that can be quite dangerous.
Japanese Twitter user Kono Shogo (@himetubaki0000) recently shared a video that has reminded many online just how intense and scary living in a snow country area can be. Shogo, who lives in the typically cold Nagano prefecture, posted the video with the caption, "this is strange. My room is supposed to be on the second floor", and that makes the video all the more shocking!
Just a few days ago, Nagano prefecture recorded a new record of heavy snowfall in a 48 hour window, and it appears that Shogo's house experienced the brunt of it, with snow piling up even to the second floor of his home.

The area surrounding Shogo's home was also blanketed in mounds of snow, even making vending machines inaccessible (although not as bad as one Twitter user who spent a month trying to use one).
