Godzilla, Kamen Rider, UItraman, and Evangelion have dream collaboration in new Shin Japan Heroes Universe

When famed creator of legendary anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion Hideaki Anno and creative collaborator Shinji Higuchi took on the King of the Monsters in Shin Gojira (titled Godzilla: Resurgence in English) that appeared to be as big as it could get. Little did we know the duo were just getting started, announcing their plans to helm Shin Ultraman later this May, and that Shin Kamen Rider would be scheduled to hit the silver screen in March of next year.

With Japan's biggest Tokusatsu icons sharing a darker Evangelion touch these days, perhaps a wider crossover was simply inevitable. The companies behind each property, Toho (Godzilla), Studio Khara (Neon Genesis Evangelion), Tsuburaya Productions (Ultraman) and Toei (Kamen Rider) have come together to announce a collaboration of the Shin-universe of their larger-than-life characters called the "Shin Japan Heroes Universe."

The collaboration was announced with the launch of an official website, as well as a main image designed by Mahiro Maeda, whose design resume includes Neon Genesis Evangelion, Shin Gojira, and the upcoming Shin Kamen Rider.

The project's emblem logo was made by Yutaka Izubuchi, who has been responsible for mechanical designs found in many anime, as well as Kamen Rider.

At the time of writing, there is not a lot of information on the project going forward, but the large-scaled collaboration is planned to have news about the progress of the team up announced going forward, including events and merchandising.
