There's nothing quite like the anticipation of waiting to bust open a newly bought cake for a celebration, but storing them in wait can sometimes make for an unexpected minor pain.
In particular, it can be rather bothersome to store a cake in the fridge and having the box it came in take up so much space (or be pretty obvious when it's supposed to be a surprise).
If you put the cake out on a plate and cover it with plastic wrap, it may ruin the appearance of the cake. On the other hand, if you leave the cake unwrapped in the refrigerator, the cream can dry out.
Japanese Twitter user Mugi Rice (@HG7654321) has probably noticed this, as they decided to share a simple but convenient trick to storing cakes that is being met with a great amount of praise online--take a look:

"When you want to store a cake, it's a really good idea to flip Ziploc Tupperware upside down."
Mugi Rice's simple storage lifehack is to turn the lid of the container upside down, and place the cake on top of the lid, then secure the container. This way, the cake will not lose its shape and the cream will stay fresh.
As obvious as the trick may seem, it appears to have been a real revolution on Japanese Twitter, especially from people who buy cakes often, with the replies filled with gratitude:
"Are they a genius? I had never thought of that, even though I had Tupperware on hand."
"It's wonderful. This is the definition of "eye-opening". A good tip!"
