Tradition And Technique Meet In New Japanese Match Style Incense Sticks
Japanese creator Michiru (@mitiruxxx) has gained a lot of fans on Twitter for his quirky and cool designs. In the past, Michiru has thought up inventive products such as okonomiyaki pencil sharpeners, iceberg tissue boxes, and adorable water bottles that leave behind cat paw prints.
The talented creator has cooked up another idea that's been a big hit on Twitter, this time turning to incense, which is often burned in the Japanese summer. Not just any incense, however, as Michiru has designed incense sticks that are modeled after naganegi, long Japanese green onions.

The humorous design actually combines Japanese green onions and incense quite naturally, as the onion's green top gradually changes to white as it burns down, just like the color of leeks. The box even looks like the type you'd find a batch of green onions in. Many online called the design genius and adorable, and clamored for it to be released. Unfortunately, like many of Michiru's designs, it exists simply as a blueprint and not a commercial product--but if demand is strong enough, you might actually see people burning some green onion incense in the near future.
