Coca-Cola Japan has grabbed headlines in the past with Japan exclusive items such as Coca-Cola's first ever alcoholic beverage, coffee Coke, and even frozen Coca-Cola slushie packs. However, what many souvenir-hunters find themselves seeking out is the rare packaging of regional exclusive bottles and the popular sakura decorated label.
Now, following up on their special 2018 New Year golden plum blossom release, Coca-Cola Japan is releasing a 2019 New Year bottle decorated with fluttering plum blossoms and a pattern inspired by the ornate kimono seen at a variety of New Year holiday events in Japan.

Cherry blossoms in Japan are known as an emblem of peak spring. However, plum blossoms start to bloom in late winter around February, signifying the next season is on its way, so they are often associated as the fruits of ringing in the New Year. If you look closely at the label, among the plum blossoms is a boar silhouette to mark the Year of the Boar.
Bottles are currently on sale all around Japan priced at 125 yen, but will only be sold for a limited time.
