With both a Sakura Milk Pudding and Sweet and Sour Sakura cherry flavor under their belt, Starbucks Japan seems to be taking a break from it's cherry blossom season beverage schedule for different Frappuccino. Later this month they'll be releasing a toasty but jiggly Butterscotch Coffee Jelly Frappuccino!
The Butterscotch Coffee Jelly Frappuccino is a one year anniversary celebration of the opening Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Tokyo, particularly it's store-exclusive Butterscotch Latte. The new Frappuccino mixes a butterscotch sauce described as rich and buttery but with a caramel sweetness that has a particularly toasty finish. The drink is also stuffed with an especially made coffee jelly giving the drink a jiggly texture.
If you're not familiar with coffee jelly, it's sweetened coffee mixed with agar jelly and often topped with cream or condensed milk.
The previously Tokyo-exclusive Butterscotch Latte, made of steamed milk, espresso, and butterscotch will also be released nationwide.
The Butterscotch Coffee Jelly Frappuccino will be available in Japan from March 13th to April 8th, with the Butterscotch Latte available from March 13th to June 16th.
