If you've traveled much in Japan, particularly using smaller and local train stations, it's likely you've seen train conductors step out of their car to make a final check-up as a security precaution before departing. To communicate with other station staff who are positioned on cars far removed, conductors use coded hand moves to communicate.
Recently a duo of train staff making a routine stop at Komatsu Station in Shizuoka prefecture have garnered a lot of love from social media. The two step out momentarily to do their normal final check routine, but it's perfectly in sync. Both wave their hands with a dance like flourish and move their bodies in identical rhythm, which many commenters have compared to the synchronized dances often seen at idol concerts.
