Fan art can be a be a creative fan's greatest way of celebrating a series or universe they feel a special attachment to. Although when it comes to a mega popular world of fiction, such as the one created by J. K. Rowling with the Harry Potter series, chances of the mastermind behind that world seeing your hard work can be slim. Fortunately for Japanese Twitter user and talented artist @kirikawa_juu, Rowling and her fans are quite the interactive community on Twitter, and so her awesome fan art below made its way to the author herself.

The title of the piece reads "Hero, Change", with the Japanese word for change here (koutai) commonly used to express the relief of a shift in work or sports, giving this illustration the meaning of a changing of the guard between the outgoing Harry Potter and the incoming Newt Scamander of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. (This illustration came out in anticipation of the film's release in Japan.)

The cool image caught Rowling's eye after another fan tweeted it out, and she was eager to find out who drew it.

@kirikawa_juu joyfully (and adorably) confirmed that she drew the picture, and was no doubt floored when the renowned author personally expressed her gratitude and shared her love for the artwork with all her followers!

Of course, she let her inner fangirl out.

This is a memory I will never forget for as long as I live.

Obviously with the power of social media, fans can't be too surprised when their favorites see their work, but to actually have an exchange with them thanks to other members of their fandom's community is a really awesome thing, and made for a very special moment for one fan.
