Will We Ever See The Kit Kat Green Tea Ice Cream In Japan?
Uji matcha, high quality green tea from Kyoto’s famous matcha producing region, is regarded by many as the best green tea in Japan. Its deep and rich green tea flavor gives a delicious spin and Instagram-friendly aesthetic to many sweets, which is why Uji matcha Kit Kats, Frappuccinos, and McDonald's cafe items have even gotten traditional Japanese dessert makeovers.
Now Japanese branches of popular Hawaiian breakfast dining Eggs ’n Things are getting the same treatment with their soon to be released Uji matcha Whipped Cream and Red Bean pancakes.
The dish serves up fluffy buttermilk matcha-flavored pancakes drizzled in a rich Uji matcha sauce, topped with azuki red beans from Hokkaido and whipped cream accented with Uji matcha powder. The dish will be available starting October 1st at Eggs ’n Things throughout Japan (except for LaLaport Nagoya Minato Aquls, Takasaki OPA, and Takashimaya Station Mall location malls), priced at 1,280 yen.
