Starbucks Japan's fightfuly Dark Night and Red Masquerade Halloween Frappuccinos aren't even in the books yet and they've already announced their first two drinks of the winter holiday season: the Merry Strawberry Cake Frappuccino and the Merry Strawberry Cake Milk.
Both drinks are inspired by the strawberry shortcakes commonly enjoyed in Japan during the Christmas holiday. The Merry Strawberry Cake Frappuccino has a base of finely crushed crumb cake and shortcake, under a layer of thick and pulpy strawberry sauce, and finally topped off with whipped cream and crunchy strawberry bits. The Merry Strawberry Cake Milk mixes steamed milk and a sweet and sour strawberry pulp sauce, and is said to be inspired by the idea of enjoying a slice of Christmas cake with a glass of hot milk.
Both of the seasonal beverages will be released on November 1st, and will be available at Starbucks throughout Japan until November 21st.
