Donguri Republic, a store specialising in Studio Ghibli gifts and souvenirs, is adding 6 new brooches to their “Full of Ghibli” embroidery brooch collection at the end of the month.

If you are a fan of Japan’s greatest animation studio, then you most probably have at least one or two pieces of Studio Ghibli memorabilia that you can proudly adorn whenever you feel like.

Although there is a lot of Studio Ghibli merchandise that can be worn out there, the majority of it can be a little too eccentric and outlandish for everyday styles. The “Full of Ghibli” embroidery brooch collection offers a solution to this problem, with their small size and intricate details, these brooches can be worn pretty much anywhere and anytime.

The “Full of Ghibli” embroidery brooch collection is a series of embroidery brooches that expresses different views and characters from famous Studio Ghibli works. At the end of May 2020, 6 new pieces will be added to the collection featuring, “Laputa in the Sky”, “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, “Red Pig”, “Spirited Away” and “Ponyo”.

Each design features many intricate features and is carefully sewn with warm and uplifting colours. The brooches can be worn as a cute clothing accent or it can be used as a home decoration on display.

The badges will be available for purchase as a complete brooch collection (the set includes the original 3 brooches so comes with a total of 9 pieces) or will be able to be bought individually, with the single brooches coming in a concealed packet, creating a fun surprise to uncover which piece you have.

At the end of last month Donguri Republic announced the release of a new brand called “Donguri Closet”, which focuses on producing items featuring the strong heroines of Studio Ghibli. As part of the new collection, the brand released a set of 10 Whisper of The Heart embroidered brooches which are not too dissimilar from the “Full of Ghibli” Embroidered brooches. If you are determined you could get a double collection of brooches, Donguri Closet’s Whisper of The Heart embroidered brooches as well as a set of the “Full of Ghibli” embroidery brooch collection.

The Whisper of The Heart embroidered badges come in a set of 10 and can be purchased online for 7,000 yen (plus tax).

Sales of the new “Full of Ghibli” embroidery brooch collection badges will commence at the end of May 2020. The badges will be available for purchase from Donguri Republic stores and on the online Donguri Republic Sora no Ue store.
