Nissin Cup Noodle is often the subject of some creative promotional campaigns, including Final Fantasy-inspired Ultima Weapon sporks and commercials that transform the cast of One Piece into Japanese high school students. Now the popular instant ramen meal is throwing its noodly hat into the hobbyist world, with this incredibly detailed full scale model of Nissin Cup Noodle.
The model is the result of a collaboration with Bandai's "Best Hit Chronicle", a series of models that realistically reproduce popular and iconic product releases in modern history. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Nissin Cup Noodle, the model was especially developed with 3D scanning to reproduce the meal's "noodle density structure", with more ramen and toppings packed on top that thin out at the bottom.
Modeling enthusiasts can assemble the cup in all realistic detail, including the main ingredients of egg, shrimp, and even "mystery meat", then attach the labels and nutritional information.
It definitely will take more than the 3 minute cooking time of the original, but looks almost identical.
The model will be released on September 18th, 2020 (Nissin Cup Noodle's birthday) for 2,420 yen at hobby shops throughout Japan, as well as all online hobby retailers (Bandai Hobby and Premium Bandai both carry the series).
