Plastic modeling is a hobby in Japan that requires a lot of time and effort, but there are some hobbyists that go above and beyond by adding an extra level of flair. Just recently we saw a Neon Genesis Evangelion model diorama with stunning level of detail made from 100 yen store goods, and a jaw-dropping Macross drama that looks exactly like an anime still.
Japanese modeler and diorama artist Mannen Koubou (Twitter/Instagram/YouTube) has likely climbed to the top of modeling mountain with his latest work.
Mannen Koubou spent the past four years crafting this incredibly detailed and realistic Mobile Suit Gundam diorama, based off the battle of Solomon, titled "Decisive Battle - Space Fortress Solomon."

A closer look from different angles shows why something of this level would take 4 years--miniaturized or not, it looks exactly how a space fortress out of the classic anime would, down to the most minute detail.

Mannen Koubou wrote "Really, I was wondering how long I'd be making this," with a laugh. The hard-to-believe impressive diorama really looks like a full scale space battle from Gundam.
Be sure to follow Mannen Koubou for even more awesomely crafted dioramas.
