Japan’s Gyoza Hot Dog is the Pinnacle of Junk Food Achievement
Korakuen is one of Japan's biggest and most popular ramen chains, and has been a bit busy diverting from their usual menu in the past year with chocolate Valentine's Day ramen, ramen-flavored fried chicken, and even ramen delivery robots.
So it was only a matter of time before they decided to put their creative spotlight on ramen's best buddy food pairing--gyoza dumplings! This time they'll be combining gyoza, tacos, okonomiyaki, and hot dogs with their two new Gyoza Dogs: Gyoza Taco Dogs and Gyoza Okonomiyaki Dogs.
Gyoza Taco Dog
The "taco" flavor serves up gyoza nestled in a hot dog bun topped with a spicy sauce with chopped tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and jalapeños and a rich cheese sauce.
Gyoza Okonomiyaki Dog
The okonomiyaki-style dog again serves up gyoza in a hot dog bun, but topped with mayonnaise, okonomiyaki sauce, salad greens, and red ginger slices.
Each gyoza dog is priced at 380 yen and available at the following participating Korakuen stores in Japan.
