Those looking to take it easy on the meat at national burger chains in Japan have quite a few options these days, including Burger King's 100% plant-based Version 2 Whopper and Mos Burger's Green Teriyaki burger.
Those in Osaka have another option, however, and that's Don’t Worry Egg’Wich, a burger joint that serves up eggwiches that replace traditional buns with fried eggs to up the protein and cut down on carbs. Here's a standard eggwich.
Don’t Worry Egg’Wich recently announced two items of big news: one being that they've now made all eggwiches on the menu gluten-free, and the other is the return of its towering Big Eggwich.
The Big Eggwich was originally popular as a hidden menu item, but has now made its way to the official menu. With three egg buns and two patties, it's an eggwich for big eaters, but still clocks in at 24.7 grams of carbs and 60.8 grams of protein (a typical eggwich has 6.8 grams of carbs and 26 grams of protein).
In addition, the restaurant has made its entire burger menu completely gluten-free by developing new original sauces (ketchup, mustard, mayo, and teriyaki sauce) that accommodate gluten free diets that still fit with Don’t Worry Egg’Wich's signature eggy bun and juicy patties.
Those hungry for the Big Eggwich or any of Don’t Worry Egg’Wich's gluten-free eggy burgers can check out their location in Osaka.
