Jujutsu Kaisen acrylic stands: Yūji Itadori, Satoru Gojō, and five more characters now on sale
Just in time for Valentine's Day, J-pop icon and fashion leader Kyary Pamyu Pamyu has posted a wonderful new animated music video on her YouTube channel for "Maybe Baby," the opening theme song for the anime Ninjala which was released in January.
With its appealing vaporwave retro-revival feel, the music video is really memorable and perfectly matches the catchy song written, composed, and produced by Yasutaka Nakata.
If the character design looks familiar, they're by up-and-coming illustrator Kayoubi (Asobisystem). Known for a nostalgic retro-revival style (inspired by manga artists and illustrators who made their mark in the 80s and 90s, like Seizo Watase, for example), Kayoubi is active in a wide range of fields including collaborations with apparel brands.
The cute animation loop of the girl's chaotic journey through various worlds was created by video director and rapper Takeru Shibuya (ODD JOB).
If you haven't seen it yet, the previously released Official Lyric Video can also be viewed below:
With her first full-length album in three years, "Candy Racer," Kyary is still going strong after ten years. She is currently on a 30-show tour titled "Kyary Pamyu Pamyu 10th ANNIVERSARY JAPAN TOUR 2022 CANDY WAVE," her largest tour yet.
