Burger King Japan has definitely been on a tear when it comes to super-sized burgers recently. With a Tokyo Teriyaki Tower Super One Pound Beef Burger, messy Ugly Burgers, and even all-you-can-eat one pound beef burgers, it's safe to say the King has been putting a priority on customers with big appetites.

Maybe that's why their new limited-time-only Natsukoi Set (Summer Love Set) is opting for a more refreshing route this summer. At a special summer beachside pop-up shop, Burger King will be serving customers with the world's first Ice Whopper!

You might be scratching your head as the idea of an "Ice" version of the flame-broiled Whopper seems to be at odd with itself, but it appears Burger King intends for this to be a way to break of the scorching heat in Japan for a special celebratory event. The Summer Love set contains the Ice Whopper, which is the classic Whopper topped with a layer of shaved ice. The set also comes with an extremely ice cold bottle of Coca-Cola.

The limited meals will be sold at a pop-up shop located at Morido Beach Beach House OASIS in Hayama-cho, Miura-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture, where the god of love is said to reside--explaining the set's name. As this is the first time in three years (due to pandemic countermeasures) the beach area will be open, this appears to be a way to offer some surprisingly chilled celebratory refreshments.

The Summer Love Set, priced at 1,000 yen, requires the purchase of a pre-order ticket. Tickets will be available for purchase on August 10 (Wed.) at 11:00 a.m. from the pre-order site. Customers can then pick a preferred time at the available dates to pick up their set (listed below), but as there are only 80 sets available will need to act fast.

Burger King will also be running a Moeru Natsu Koi campaign (Burning Summer Love campaign) from Monday, August 15, 2022 (13:00) to Sunday, August 28, 2022 (23:59). 10,000 people selected will be DM'd a coupon if they follow retweet Burger King Japan's Twitter account's (@BURGERKINGJAPAN) campaign Tweets that nets a free Whopper set when ordering a Whopper set.
