Japanese felt artist Yukari Onozuka has taken her love of crafting to create unique and unbelievably adorable animal brooches perfect for all animal lovers on the go. A project that Onozuka had been contemplating for a long time, the self-taught artist recently succeeded in creating magnetic animal brooches for items like bags, clothing, and hats that won't make holes in the precious items. And if that weren't pretty awesome already, the brooches are made to look as though the animals are poking their heads out from inside!
So far, the brooches have been made as furry little hamsters, squirrels, and cats. The Djungarian Hamster Brooch even comes as a charming set of hamster head and butt, because we all know there's nothing in the world cuter than a hamster's tush.
Onozuka writes that she has loved handmade projects since she was a child, and was greatly influenced by her mother who is a doll maker. Although she took the path of computer graphics design as a student, it wasn't long before she was introduced to the world of wool felt crafts and began making headbands, clips, pins, and brooches of adorable little animals.
The Tokyo-based artist now sells her handmade felt accessories on her website Y's Felt Art, as well as on Etsy and Creema. It looks as though the brooches are not currently on sale, but other items can be purchased from any of her online stores. Now our furry friends can tag along with us everywhere we go.
