How to turn cheap 7-11 food into a gorgeous Japanese traditional breakfast
Nintendo's Kirby definitely has a natural affinity for the food world, having his own cafe in Tokyo and fans (sometimes nightmarishly) recreating him as a dessert. Thanks to a collaboration between Nintendo and Kyoto confectionery maker Tsuruya Yoshinobu, you can now turn Kirby into a traditional Japanese sweet!
The collaboration takes a variety of Kirby faces, and lets you use them as monaka wafers to sandwich red bean paste and any other filling you choose to put into your DIY sweet.
Designed to celebrate the 2020 cherry blossom season, the release comes with sakura flavored red bean paste. The set has some nifty Kirby artwork on the packaging as well.
Tsuruya Yoshinobu sells the Kirby wafer sandwiches on their online shop.
