Yukimi Daifuku is a very popular brand of mochi ice cream in Japan. In its standard flavor, it consists of vanilla ice cream wrapped inside a thin layer of chewy mochi rice cake. However, just like many other ice cream desserts, they come in other flavors. Some of the standouts include heart-shaped sakura strawberry, and pancake with maple syrup centers.
Now, in time for the warmer months of the year, we have a refreshing lemony twist on this beloved classic dessert:

As you can see from the illustration on the package, this flavor features rich, creamy cheesecake ice cream and a slightly tangy lemon sauce center, for a very lemony and delightful combination perfect for summer.
If you have any doubts about the taste, you can rest assured knowing that this particular flavor was developed by fans. In fact, it says so right on the package: ファンが考えた fan ga kangaeta. Lotte conducted a campaign in September 2019 in which fans of the longstanding hit dessert contributed suggestions for a new flavor, and this was the winning proposal.
