When it comes to food, Japan doesn’t seem to be satisfied with simply having restaurants and cafes serving delicious dishes. In addition to enjoying food in some of the best food places in the world, many people seek something more to their dining experience — for example, the chance to satisfy their taste buds at one of the plethoras of themed cafes throughout the country.

The same goes for dessert buffets which are also highly popular in Japan, as we’ve seen in the past with matcha and circus-themed dessert buffets. One of the most popular themes by far has been Alice in Wonderland, which brought with it a luxurious feast of saccharine desserts. Well, those who missed out on the opportunity to try out this particular all-you-can-eat buffet have a second chance, because Italian restaurant Vino Buono will be the next to offer an Alice in Wonderland-themed dessert buffet!

This special themed buffet will only be held once a month at the Aoyama St. Grace Cathedral in Tokyo. It’s limited to 100 people per month on September 24th and October 15th, marking the first round of more themed dessert buffets to come. Not only does the array of Alice in Wonderland sweets create a fantasy-like world in itself, but being able to devour the yummy treats inside the gorgeous cathedral adds another layer of magic to the whole experience.

From heart-shaped cakes to cookies that look like playing cards, every element of the dessert buffet is meant to tell the tale of Alice’s journey into Wonderland. Of course, there are savory dishes like soups and pasta to balance out all the sweetness.
