Burger King Japan has been all about volume recently, whether it be Tokyo Teriyaki Tower Super One Pound Beef Burgers, Guilty Butter Burgers, or their none-too-pretty ugly burger series.
It may be starting to become an end of the year tradition, however, to go all in on spice. To mark the end of 2020, the burger chain released a Whopper so spicy it wards off evil. This year's end will punctuated once again with heat, as Burger King Japan is serving up a new spicy Sauce, Garlic & Fire Whopper.
While it doesn't make any claims about fighting off evil spirits or New Year good fortune, the new Sauce, Garlic & Fire Whopper looks to provide a fiery palate cleanser with a number of spicy ingredients.
The new burger starts with the classic Whopper setup of an open-flame grilled 100% beef patty, topped with cheddar cheese, pickles, fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, and creamy mayonnaise and ketchup. The burger's standout feature and source of heat are special "Smoked Spicy Flakes" that contain strongly spiced and pungent Japanese Tentaka Chili peppers, as well as paprika powder and garlic. The flakes give an extra spicy crunch to an already spicy sauce slathered on the Whopper.
A Sauce, Garlic & Fire Whopper Jr. will also be available.
In addition to the new Whopper, Burger King will also be offering a limited time offer of upgrading their Classic Hot Dog and Chili Beans Hot Dog with a special cheese sauce for free.
The Sauce, Garlic & Fire Whopper, Sauce, Garlic & Fire Whopper Jr., and free cheese sauce upgrades will be available at Burger King locations throughout Japan beginning December 17th.
